Catch The Fire Church, Mississauga

Faustin & Marina Fernado

Catch The Fire Church in Mississauga was established in 2019, and I have been seeking the Lord to allow us to plant another church location. Last year in 2020, we partnered with the SOM Toronto to host an online school with 20 young adults in India. After 3 months of the SOM, we launched a leader's impact group with potential students to be future church planters.

At the beginning of this year with the permission and financial blessings of our board members, generous donors within our church, and good friends within the Catch The Fire movement we have initiated a pre-launch for Catch The Fire Church in Nagaland, India.

Currently, we have leased a private bungalow that could house 25 people. Our Catch The Fire Church, Nagaland Leader, Pete Krose, is a former school of ministry student with 13 years of running a bible college in Nagaland. I have been visiting Nagaland for the past 10 years and had the opportunity to mentor Pete Krose. He has formed a team of 12 of his graduates to be his core team to lead Catch The Fire Church in Nagaland. Starting next month the 12 will go through the online School of Ministry at the Catch The Fire India HUB. In September, we will house 15 students to put them through the School of Ministry and on the weekends’ host revival meetings in the city of Dimapur. The launch is scheduled for April / May 2022.

Catch The Fire India Hub administrator, Anugrah Nile, (former online SOM student ), runs a digital marketing company. He will be helping me recruit young adults across India to take the 3 months online school of ministry to find potential church planters in India.

Catch the fire Mississauga can financially manage both the local church and the missional church projects in India. I have learned in the past 2 years from Luke 19:17.

Luke 19: 17 If we are faithful with the little, he is willing to trust us with more.

Since April 18, we have experienced a bigger measure of the presence of God. A greater expectation in many hearts with words of knowledge, healings, and greater freedom and authority for me to step out and release the anointing. Here are 3 amazing healing testimonies from our congregation.

1. We had a lady who couldn’t lift her right arm due to a stretched ligament. She suffered with pain for 18 months. One Sunday morning I asked the church to lift up their hands in the anointing and to her astonishment (and to her husband’s) she could lift her arm with no pain!
2. Her husband was healed from severe lactose intolerance. He tested it by eating a poutine!
3. A baby was healed of a ton of food allergies while her mother was watching online as I was anointing people for healing with oil. As the mother is breastfeeding she tried to eat the foods to which her baby was allergic. Everything went fine, and had no crying or pain. Totally healed!

5 years ago, I was sitting in a hotel in Vietnam with one of my spiritual fathers, Dr. Russ Frase. He asked me if I would go to Sierra Leone with him to do 16 bible school graduations. This was for a ministry called Hope of Glory, Sierra Leone. Several weeks later we were there traveling across the country doing graduations. It was the scariest place I have ever been in my life. I had no desire to ever go back.

In October 2020, Peggy Cummins , the founder of Hope of Glory, went to be with the Lord. In January 2021 Dr. Frase went to be with the Lord. Three weeks ago I was contacted by the Hope of Glory board and was given the entire ministry. It now includes 480 leaders overseeing 300 churches and 90 Bible Schools.

The U.S. government estimates the total population of Sierra Leone at 6.5 million (midyear 2019 estimate). According to national government statistics, 77 percent of the population is Muslim, and 21.9 percent is Christian. In 2017, it had 50 churches and 28,212 members. There are many different organizations that fall under the category of Baptist churches.

Catch The Fire Church, Myrtle Beach, SC

Here in Myrtle Beach, we are seeing a growing expectancy for God to move. We recently collaborated with another local church, Ignite Church, to host a weekend called “Cultivating Hearts For More”. Collaboration is not a word that churches in our area use much, so we and Pastors Jim and Nancy Neece believe we are pioneering something for our area. It has already come to the notice of other Kingdom-hearted Christians that this is a different approach to making room for God to move, birthed in obedience to His voice and sensitivity to His heart. Our speaker, Kathy Campbell, was greatly impacted by the revival in Toronto and during these meetings we saw God imparting an anointing to reach out beyond our four walls through relational connections. There was a great deal of freedom in the Holy Spirit during the meetings.
